The winds of change Empty
PostSubject: The winds of change   The winds of change EmptyMon Apr 22, 2013 12:51 am

The wind ferociously whipped around Tristen, continuously pushing him back against trees and into bushes. "Why the fuck did I come here in this weather?!" He shouted, fighting his way through the strong gusts being blown. 'Calm down.' He thought, and took a deep breath. With motivation he pushed on, though it was no use. The wind kept pushing him around like a rag doll. Finally, he gave up. He sank down next to a tree, sat there and waited for the wind to die down before heading to his home on the hills.

Tristens bright eyes slowly worked their way open, the brightness from the morning sun blinding him as it shone in his face. "Fuck!" He yelled, covering his eyes with his hands. He stood up, stretched and groaned. His back ached and he could barely feel his legs. He leaned up against the tree, his face cringed in pain. He attempted again at opening his eyes and when he did, he was stunned. A few trees had been blown down around him, a few bushes had been ripped from the roots and a few animals who couldn't escape the falling trees laid motionless on the ground.

With great motivation, Tristen walked forward, the feeling in his legs returning at snail pace. He kept pushing forward, but slowly, not knowing what kind of fallen trees or debree laid ahead. At last he reached a small clearing in the carnage. He stumbled into the meadow, and collapsed, his body sore from the shitty rest he got the night before. His back still ached and his legs felt as though they had been stabbed repeatedly, as if in hopes to separate the meat from the bone. His face was yet again cringed in pain, and he felt as though he was weak and useless.

'Get up. Go home and get some better rest.' He thought, and again he got up, but this time he couldn't do it. He fell over just as soon as he stood. 'Well I guess this is where I spend the day...' He thought, and sighed. He ran a hand through his very messy, tangled hair. After a second of trying to push it through, he removed the comb he kept in his pocket and very gently brushed out the mess of hair he had. 'I guess I get to wait for someone to come along I guess.' He thought, and laid in the meadow, waiting, listening to the calming sounds of the forest.

PostSubject: Re: The winds of change   The winds of change EmptyMon Apr 22, 2013 1:18 am

"Miss can I get some more coffee? The weather out there looks horrible and I need something to keep me warm before I leave" The old man sitting at the dinner was saying as he held up his cup to the middle of the aisle from where he was sitting.
"Oh of course sir!" Frost quickly ran over to the old man and poured him his cup of coffee, she flashed her same old fake smile like she always does for her customers at work. "There you go, hopefully this wind lifts a bit" She saw the old man nod his head as she took the coffee pot and headed to the kitchen. She placed the coffee pot back on its stove and looked at her tired out manager who smiled back at Frost.
"Looks like it be your time to gets off work Miss. " Said the older woman with red curly hair that was cut short. She was a bigger looking woman that had years on here from the lines under her eyes. "Go on Frost, we cans handle it from here. You've been very kind to haves taken an extra shift, but I knows you need a goods rest dear"
Frost nodded her head at her manager and gave her a small smile. "Thank you Rachel... I know I've been picking extra shifts, but the bills keep piling up..." she was telling her old friend who nodded to frost in reply.
Without another word Frost grabbed her coat and headed to her apartment, but before she left she caught a glance of the tv. It was saying how bad the winds where and how trees had been reported knocked down, but at the moment things died down and was looking calm.
/I better go check on mom and dad just in case../ Frost was thinking as she shifted her backpack and zipped her coat up more.

Frost was walking down the old ruined path to her old house. The road was being over covered by grass and bushes that covered the road. If Frost hadn't memorized the path she would of been lost by now, but she keep moving on, only making turns every now and then till she reached the clearing. In the center was an old run down mansion. It was white with black lining, the old fountain in front was broken and the water was now green. Frost made her way across the old driveway and headed towards the back of the run down house till she found two grave stones. she sat down by them and brushed away the twigs and leaves that covered them.

"Hey mom..... hey dad.... I.. I just wanted to check up on you..." Frost spoke quietly as her eyes watered up after she cleaned around the tombstones. She always wanted to make sure their graves where well kept for. They weren't buried there since they couldn't find the bodies in the crash, but Frost could feel them here. She could just feel it in her gut that they stayed here from time to time to check up on their daughter or... to see if she was ok on her own. "I_I miss you guys.... I do.."

Tristen finally got the feeling back in his legs and his back ached less, so he stood up and stretched. He looked around the clearing he stepped into and was shocked when he saw a mansion that looked like it had been abandoned for years. He did a semi-circle around and saw a girl in the back talking to tombstones. He let her be, quickly retreating out of the clearing and making his way through the now maze-like forest.

He tripped and stumbled a few times, but after a long while of walking, and stumbling, he finally managed to get out of the forest and onto the hiking path used for tourists. He acted natural, although he knew people saw him come out of the forest. Sure enough, a moment later a ranger came up yelling "Sir! Did you just emerge from the forest?!" Tristen sighed and smiled at the woman.

"Yes, ma'am. But you see, I didn't come from this trail. I make my way through the forest everyday to go home. And I can assure you it is not the protected half of the forest. I always make sure I know which half I'm on." She said, giving her a reassuring smile. She eyeballed him for a moment and eased up. Then it hit her.

"Oh! You're Tristen! From the Hills. I am terribly sorry, sir. My apologies." She said, and waved good-bye. Tristen waved back to her, and sighed. 'Happens all the time...' He thought, and headed back for the city.

Frost turned her head quickly when she thought she heard someone, but when she looked she noticed no one was there. After a while Frost stood up and shifted her book bag as she turned around and headed back to town. As she walked along the path she noticed it had been rustled through, but Frost shrugged it off thinking an animal had come through the path.

Before long Frost was waking to down the street and stopped for a moment to rest on a bench. Her tired out feet were in pain from running around at work and then walking a long ways to and from her old house. "Gosh I need some new shoe.." she was saying as she looked at the holes in her shoes she set her foot back on the ground and leaned against the back of the bench more as she closed her eyes to rest for a moment.

Tristen noticed a cute girl resting on a bench by the park. He walked over, sat down and watched the events going on for a bit. His mind got distracted though, and he soon forgot about the cute girl sitting next to him. He was so engrossed in the happenings around him, he thought she had left.

When he turned and saw she was still there, he smiled a bit and said "Hello." In a delicate, soft voice, not sure how she would react to a stranger saying hello. He waited for a response, not looking at her so she didn't feel creeped out. He turned his attention back to the games and activities around him while he waited.

Frost peeled open her eyes for a moment to look at the stranger sitting next to her. She sat up a bit more as she felt her back pack till next to her and relaxed a bit. But the fact that some random guy came up to her seemed a bit odd. Frost knows she can't trust anyone, if things go back she knew she would have to make a run for it.
"Um hi there" she flashed a fake smile. "Where you over there at the games?' she asked the strange guy as she pointed to the other side of the park. /He's so cute! . . .dammit Frost he could be working for them/ she thought to herself as she looked back at him.

Tristen smiled when she replied. "No, miss, I came from the forest. I was making my way to the city from my home in the hills and I got stuck in the storm overnight and crashed out next to a tree. I collapsed in a meadow I saw and then felt better in terms of physical condition and now here I am." He explained, smiling warmly and nicely to her. 'Hey she's pretty damn cute closer up.' He thought, and looked back at the games.

"The games are quite intriguing though. I guess I love to watch little kids play sports. Gives some hope for the future." He said, his eyes glued to a soccer game.

Frost blinked at the guy for a moment /Ok...... he is a bit strange../ she thought to herself as she looked at him. "Well....." she was saying as she looked at the ground and then back at him giving him a big fake smile. " Umm I got to get home so I guess I'll just see you around town then.... umm nice meeting you...? " Frost sat up now and looked at the guy wondering what his name was as she was trying to get out of there, but at the same time she didn't want to be rude.

Tristen smiled and nodded. "Alright, see you 'round." He said, and went back to watching the games. 'Naturally shy.' He thought, and shook his head a slight bit. 'That poor girl has gone through too much in her life...' He thought, and silently sighed. 'Why must I have this power?' He thought as he watched the games.

After a while he got up and went to the store, grabbing a few essentials he came into town for. After that he went back to his house, making the long journey back home. Once home he put away the groceries, and headed upstairs to talk to Emily.

Frost walked back home to her apartment as quickly as possible. She fumbled with the lock since she was trying to get into her apartment. Once she was in, Frost closed the door an locked it behind her. She placed her backpack down on the floor and fell onto her bed. "Uggg what a long weird day its been.." she was saying into the blankets. Frost was about to head to sleep when she felt a light finger trace along her back. Her hair stood up on end as she swallowed hard. She was about to spike the guy with some sharp blades, but she stopped once she heard a voice.
"Well its been some time now hasn't it Frost? We had... lost track of you for a while, but it seems my tracker has finally found you once again Frost" Frost could just hear the smiles across the man's face.
"Leave me alone! I-I don't want o do this anymore... please!" she begged him, but as soon as she started to do that she felt hands press her into the bed more. Frost could feel tears stream down her face as she closed them tight and let her crystal shards slice the guy that was holding her. She quickly got up and jumped through the window, landing on the sidewalk out front. If one thing was for sure, Frost always made sure wherever she lived had an easy escape route.

Frost ran as far as she could into the forest. "i-I knew it was bad to come back...." She was saying in between breathes as she was running. "But... I-I missed them too much" Tears streamed down her face as she ran through the forest, not knowing which way she was even heading.

The man yelled in anger and made the bloody guy on the floor rise to his feet. "Find her!! I want my gemstone now!!" he pointed towards the open window as he himself walked out the apartment door and headed to him limo.

After Tristens long talk with his sister Emily, he stepped out onto his balcony that overlooked the forest. He smiled at the gentle breeze that flowed throughout the clearing, enjoying the sounds of the calm wildlife. The moon shone bright, but for Tristen it was not the moon he had hoped for. 'Soon, my friend.' He thought, his inner-werewolf eager to let loose.

Tristen heard some quick footsteps in the forest below. 'Running, and fear.' He thought, and closed his eyes and became one with the forest. He soon saw what the trees saw and was shocked. The girl from the park was running through the forest, and she was being chased. But the pursuer was far behind.

Quickly, Tristen hopped over the edge of the balcony and landed swiftly on his feet. The girl wasn't far, so a quick run would get him to her. He dashed off into the thick foliage, his legs getting cut repeatedly by bushes and low tree branches. He soon saw the girl and stopped. "Come with me!" He shouted, and took her hand. "Please trust me." He said, not moving until she said 'Okay.

Frost was making her feet run faster and farther away from her apartment, she wanted to be as far away from them as possible. Without really paying any attention she heard someone shout out to her. It was that strange guy from yesterday, at the park. Frost wanted to run the other way from the strange guy as he was telling her to follow him. Could she really trust this guy? Well... if she was wrong she would be in the hands of that guy again.
Frost shivered just at the thought of it and ran towards the stranger, "o-okay I'll go with you" she old him as she reached out for his hand as she was running towards him now.

Tristen ran at her speed with her until the reached the hill leading up to his house. He ran up it, not letting go of the girls hand. He bolted inside, slammed the door shut when the girl was behind him, and shut off all the lights, making his house incognito since it was dark. He walked over and set the perimeter security alarm and the one for the house, just to be safe.

He sat down on the floor, bringing the girl next to him. "What happened...?" He asked. "If you don't wanna tell that's fine, but you were scared and running from someone..." He said, keeping his voice low since Emily had gone to bed. "Oh, I'm Tristen by the way." He said, smiling at her even if she couldn't see it.

Frost followed the guy to what she assumed was his house. They ran inside and he locked the door. Frost was breathing heavy as she was trying to get her breath back from all that running she did. After a moment she was able to speak."I'm Frost by the way.." she started to say as she had her knees pressed up against her chest as she was sitting on the floor across from Tristen. "And well..." she looked down nervously as she felt a lump in her throat. She did trust this guy, but.... she barely knew who he was though... But he did save her. He at least deserved that much.

"Well..I-I was walking into my apartment... I didn't even notice anyone was there I was so tired... when i laid down th-they held me down. I...."she cut herself off not wanting to explain to someone about her gift. She didn't like using it for one, but she didn't want anyone else to know about it. "I was able to escape and ran into the forst to get away from him.... Will I be safe here?" she asked Tristen.

Tristen nodded. "I'm so sorry that had to happen. I...Well...I already knew what you had gone through in the past." He admitted. "Now, please don't get mad at that. I can't help it. If I'm in close enough distance with someone and we communicate, even for a short while, I can see into their past. And I saw into a good chunk of yours." He said, and looked down.

"Well, Frost, this is about as safe as it gets. One, we're in the farthest end of the forest, covered with the thickets bushes and trees, and it is beyond dark outside. There will be no hope for whoever is chasing you to find us and if they do, I have a perimeter alarm set up so we have a warning. I know my way around this town and forest, I can keep you safe." He said with a reassuring smile.

Her eyes widen for a moment when she heard Tristen could see into her past. She lowered her head for a moment, not looking at him as she bit her lip.
"So... you know who I am? H-Have you seen my mistake?" she asked him as she held back her tears, trying her best not to cry anymore. Hell she might as well since her face was already damped with sweat, blood, and tears. It didn't help that she was over tired either. But she knew one thing was for sure... she could finally give herself some rest since no one would be after her at the moment and Frost wouldn't have to worry about work either.
"Um... th-thanks for taking me in.... would it be alright if i sleep... I'm kind of tired. I know I'm not very clean, but I don't think I can stand anymore... " she was telling Tristen as she fought back the tiredness.

Tristen nodded. "I hope you won't mind, but I am going to let you sleep in my bed. I can go days without sleep. Natural habit. I can stay up all nigh and make sure you're safe." He said, and stood up. "Here, let me carry you. If you don't mind." He said as he swiftly scooped her into his arms. He carried her upstairs into his room and laid her gently on his bed. "Here ya go. Sleep tight." He whispered as he walked over to a chair in the corner.

She quickly fell asleep and Tristen closed his eyes and became one with the forest again. 'The pursuer has stopped. Perhaps for now, but I can't let my defense down.' He thought as he opened his eyes again. He walked over silently to the balcony and stepped out, shutting the glass door behind him quietly. The forest was still and silent, just the way he liked.

PostSubject: Re: The winds of change   The winds of change EmptyMon Apr 22, 2013 3:28 am

Frost fell asleep as soon as she hit the bed, she was out. Sleep is what she needed, Frost hadn't remembered the last time she could actually sleep, most of the time she was only half asleep. Either work had kept her up or the fear of being taken from her home made her uneasy and scared. Frost wasn't sure why, but she knew she was in safe hands for the time being.

Frost tossed around in the bed a bit after a few hours into her sleep. She... she was having a bad nightmare. No. a bad memory coming back to her. Most of the time she keeps them locked up tight and pretend that it didn't happen that way, but deep down inside her she knew it was true and eventually everything would un-bury itself.
Frost could remember the day clear as day. Her parents were driving her home from a long trip through the mountains, but something went wrong with the car, it had steered over road and they were being tossed and turned around in the car. Frost was scared and panicked in the back of the car as it was being tossed around. During some point she had been knocked out, but when she regained conscientiousness she looked in horror at what had happened to her parents, they had been crushed.... not by the impact from the fall, but from the crystal coating they Frost had used to protect herself when the car was being tossed and turned around.

With a jolt Frost awoke and quickly looked around the room. She stared at the window and saw the sun was heading.. down? "How long... did I sleep for?" she asked herself out loud.

Tristen emerged shirtless from his closet, his hair wet over his face. "Well, all last night and all today. You were so tired out." He said, turning back to his closet. "You needed the sleep though. But, you also need food. Are you hungry?" He asked as he put on a zip-up hoodie instead of a shirt. "I can make you something to eat." He proposed as he walked over to Frost.

"You must have had some pretty bad dreams last night. You were tossing and turning like a mad man. It was almost as if you were....tumbling. But hey, what do I know?" He shrugged. "Well, anyways, do you want some food? Or a shower and some fresh clothes?" He asked as he looked at her tangled hair and semi-dirt stained face.

Frost turned around towards the voice and couldn't help but feel her face blush when she looked at Tristen. She placed her hand on her head as she sat up on the bed and looked down at the covers till he placed a hoodie on. "Yeah... I.. needed the sleep badly" she was telling him. For a moment she thought about asking Tristen if he saw her dream, but she pushed that aside.
"Well I am pretty hungry, but I think a nice shower would be best before a good meal" she stood up beside the bed and gave him a small smile, not one of her fake ones, but her real smile. "Umm... would you have anything for me to wear?" she asked him not even sure if she could fit into his clothes unless he had bought her some clothes that looked like they could fit her.

"Of course! I had a few pairs of shorts you could wear. And maybe a shirt or two. But maybe you'd be better looking at my sisters clothes?" He asked, knowing his sister wouldn't care. "She is the same size as you, so it'd be an easy fit." He told her, slowly making his way to the bathroom door in his room.

"Well, for now lets see if you would like some comfortable clothes to wear. Hmm..." He said as he disappeared into his closet. He returned a quick moment later with a pair of unused gym shorts and a plain black t-shirt. He set them on the bed next to her. "There ya go! If you want to wear them, let me know. Oh, you may need some...certain women's clothing...." He said, as he quickly dashed out of his room and into his sisters. He returned a minute later with a bra and underwear. "Here! All set. The bathroom is over there." He said, pointing to a door by his closet. "Call me if you need anything." He said with a smile as he slipped out onto the balcony.

Frost watched Tristen as he looked in his closet for some of his clothes that would fit her. she was a bit surprised he had a sister, but then again she didn't know anything about him really. when she looked at the clothes she smiled a bit more, thinking how comfortable they would be to wear instead of her tight uniform she still had on. Before frost could think about her under clothes, Tristen had an idea and came back in with a bra and underwear for her. She couldn't help but blush madly as he placed them on the bed for her. "T-thanks Tristen, I really appreciate it, I really do" Frost told him as she grabbed the clothes and headed into the bathroom.

Frost turned on the water till it was at a good temperature for her as she got in and turned on the shower. She felt so relaxed as she washed her body and hear hair with soap. But having hot water was the best thing to feel as she stood there soaking it all in. After a while Frost turned off the water and stepped out of the shower to dry off and get dressed. She hung the used towel on the shower and walked out of the bathroom and into the hall way. As she walked, Frost took a look around the house. It seemed like a nice normal house from what she saw and she for once liked it here.

Tristen was sitting in the living room with Emily, watching a movie together when he heard Frost walking around. He let her explore for a bit and when he saw her he smiled. "Hello, Frost. The clothes fit well?" He asked, noticing the shorts a bit long on her legs. "Are you still hungry?" He asked, shifting his position so he could face both Emily and Frost.

"Ahh, where are my manners? Frost, this is my sister Emily. Em, this is Frost, the one I told you about last night." He said, then sat back to let the two do their thing.

"Hello, Frost. Pleased to meet you! If you want something more stylish to wear than my bro's drab clothes, just ask. I can hook you up!" She said, smiling warmly at Frost. "Oh, and you can stay here as long as you'd like. Neither of us will bite, and we can both assure you that you'll be one hundred percent safe!" She said, then giggled.

"Well, you two, I am off. Going out for a bit with some friends. Ta-ta!" Emily said as she strode out of the house. Tristen sat there and smiled at Frost. "What do you want to eat?" He asked, standing up. He walked in her direction and took her by the hand, leading her to the kitchen. "The pantry is over there..." He said, pointing to a door in the wall by a small hall. "Any other food is in the fridge and freezer. Look around and toss me anything you want." He said as he sat down at the table.

The winds of change Empty
PostSubject: Re: The winds of change   The winds of change EmptyMon Apr 22, 2013 4:15 am

Frost had slowly walked into the living room where she found Tristen and his sister sitting together watching a movie. She looked down nervously for a moment and then nodded her head when he asked if she was hungry. Before she could grab something to eat she was introduced to his sister, Em. She waved to her and gave her a small smile, but Frost could even say anything she was already talking up a storm, but seemed so happy and full of energy.

"Well thank you Em and I might take you up on your offer" she managed to get out before Em had to leave for her friends house. She liked Tristen's sister, but she would have to see her a couple more times to get used to her. She looked over at Tristen now as he stood up and walked her towards the kitchen. Frost wasnt sure where to start looking at since she didn't remember a good kind of meal to eat at all. She looked through the fridge and then the pantry and finally decided what she wanted.

"Well... would it be possible to made some spaghetti? I-I hope thats alright? I dont want to cause too much trouble for you Tristen"She told him as she felt her face light up a bit from being shy about asking.
