Beginning of the End Empty
PostSubject: Beginning of the End   Beginning of the End EmptyMon Sep 30, 2019 2:11 am

The smell of fresh chives and fried eggs could be smelled throughout the whole kitchen as a young man in his early twenties was cooking up some breakfast for himself. His name was Theodore Masters. His skin was pale as snow as he didn’t particularity make his way outside during the winter time. His hand remained on the handle of the skillet as he could hear the sounds of the crackling egg frying up as his free hand was moving the salted egg around to prevent it from burning. His head was looking up and straight ahead as if he wasn't paying attention to the dish below as it cooked. A rather large smile appeared across his face as he was humming to himself as the young man with the snow colored hair was putting the cooked egg on his plate. A set of bacon was already there as he feels around the counter for his plate and turns off the stove once hes done cooking breakfast.
“Devan! Breakfast is ready!” He shouted as he slowly walks to the table across the large kitchen to set the plates down on. A hot cup of coffee was already placed besides the two plates as the young male sits down and begins to eat his food.
Another young man in his late twenties takes a seat across from the snowed colored haired male as he rubs his fingers through his hair, brushing back his black hair. He adjusts his voice as he looks over across the table to see his adopted brother Theo. He presses a finger up against the middle of the frame of his glasses to get a better view of his younger brother.
“I see you are going out later Theo?” he questions his younger brother since it was rather hard to go out when it was the cold season. It was harder to move around in the ice and snow causing him to fall and slide more even with his cane in his hands.
“Oh yes dear brother. I was able to call for a ride later today to take me to a few stores”
“Oh?” Devan raised his eyebrow with a questionable look.
“Don’t be like that dear brother” Theo gave me a soft chuckle.
“I’ll be alright, doing some more research to help out” Theo was saying as he took a bite out of his breakfast. He could hear a heavy sigh from his older brother. He could understand where his brother was coming from, since Theo couldn’t be as helpful in the family business as Devan was. If anything both his older brother and mother seemed to want to stay Theo away from that path.
“I have no objections for this research, but I cannot convince you otherwise. It would be helpful to have support for hunters” Theo give his brother a wide smile as he finished up his dish while Devan took a sip of his coffee.
“I appreciate the breakfast Theo, before you leave make sure mother gets something in her stomach before she fills it up with alcohol. I have to finish something I been working on for father” The sound of an empty mug hits the table along with a chair pushing out as Devan collects his dishes and places them in the sink and retreats back to his room. Theo gives a nod and sighs thinking about their mother Jane. Their mother was a brilliant scientist when it came to development in technology and in knowledge of monster hunting. Lately however, she became very depressed seeing her husband for months on end. She loves her two sons to no end, but their mother seemed lonely without her other half.

After Theo cleans up the kitchen he brings a plate of breakfast up to his mother, he peaks into her room to hear her passed out snoring on her bed. He sighs heavily as he places the plate of food on her nightstand and leaves the room. On his way out he could her a soft whisper of a ‘thank you’ to him, making Theo smile hearing his mother thank him for the food.
Theo finishes getting ready for the day as he awaits for his ride as he stands on the cool front porch. He didn’t mind living near the mountains with his family, if anything he considered it to be a very peaceful place to live, although the cold and patches of ice were less agreeable though.
Before long his phone was going off as a voice echoed through saying his ride was about a few minutes out. He didn’t wait long as Theo and heard a horn honking before long. He made his way to the vehicle as he got in and asked to go to the research facility downtown.
“That strange place?” The driver asked Theo as he gave the driver a simple nod hearing the older man shake his head from side to side as he sighs and starts to take off.

Beginning of the End Empty
PostSubject: Re: Beginning of the End   Beginning of the End EmptyMon Sep 30, 2019 4:57 pm

At one point, there was nothing İskender wanted more than to get out of the hunting lifestyle. His father had managed to retire after dragging around his only son through monster infested lanes, around people saturated with demonic energy, and just any sort of unpleasant occult thing for nearly half a decade. Of course, the event that spurred the idea that perhaps it was time for the father-son combination to retire was Iskender almost losing his life in some horrifically gruesome way that Iskender had been lucky to blackout during but.... well, at least he cared. Besides, the limp he was left with as a result of this would make it so running would be extremely difficult. So the two of them had moved into this new city, suburbia where there were more retired hunters than anywhere else Iskender had ever seen. Managing to re-secure a job easily, Father Karga had easily been accepted into one of the multiple Christian churches in this city... because, as Iskender would later scoff, why the hell wouldn't there be a dozen churches in this hunter infested city? Iskender, having been barely eighteen when they returned, Iskender began going by Alex, managed to get his GED within a couple of years and was a mere couple of months away from graduating a four year nursing program when....

Well....

The bloody details would best be buried in his father's coffin with him. The funeral for his father had been a week ago and it was the funeral where he was introduced to Mr. Masters. He had been... a fan of the work of the Karga family apparently and in light this tragedy, he would be honored to offer the only Karga son a job at his up and coming research facility. Especially with the degree that he was so close to completing. After all, all the subjects there were voluntarily and they were doing only the most human research on them. These were supernatural creatures who wanted to get better after their.... well, monster-ification, but because of the obvious safety risks that came would the job there weren't enough nurses who came through so if Alex could help, it would be a benefit to humanity. Think of all the bloodshed that would be spared if they were able to pioneer this research! Gruesome murders like Alex's father would be left in the past and a new, brighter era of humanity would be ushered in.

"It's what your father would have wanted, don't you agree?"

The facility was located downtown in an intimidating building that seemed to match all the other buildings around it. The couple of floors above the ground were some small scale doctor's office where they would take a small number of patients as a cover and it was underground where Alex would be spending most of his time, taking care of the patients. Starting to get changed into his scrubs downstairs, Alex suddenly became aware of the commotion starting to take over the building. One of Mr. Masters' sons was making an unplanned visit today. Charming.

Finishing getting changed, Alex couldn't help but peak his head out the door. He still had... twenty or so minutes before he was supposed to clock in so... he figured there couldn't be much harm in meeting the surprise visitor that day. After a couple moments, Alex saw the fancy black car that might have been more expensive than anything him and his father had ever owned at any one time. Seeing the young man leave the car and his eyes glanced over him. White hair, which was unlike any of the other Masters he had met so... maybe he was a bastard? Genetic recessive trait? Did it matter? However, eyes traveling downwards he also noticed... the cane. Interesting. Walking forward, he approached the man walking in and opened the door for him before pausing. "Um, hello!" he said, accent coming out thickly for but a moment.

Theo tilts his head towards the sound of the voice, it had a thick accent attached to it which caught him by surprised as Theo wasn’t sure what it was from. His snowy short cloud like hair moved along with him when he tilted his head, showing those glazed over blue eyes of his as they stared straight ahead. As the white-haired young man gave a simple smile and nod he greeted the stranger.
“Why hello there. You’re accent is thick I can assume you’re not from around here? Whats you’re name?” Theo could feel his chauffeur helping him through the door as the young man turned towards him and smirks, interrupting their newly conversation.
“It’s alright Simon, I can handle myself from here, would it be alright if you pick me up around five?”
The chauffeur glances over at Alex for a moment noticing the young man and then drags his attention back to Theodore as he gives him a heavy sigh.
“Of course Sir, I will be back around that time and meet you in the lobby” He tips his hat to Alex as he makes his way back to the limo to move it out of the front of the building.
“I apologize for that, Simon wants to make sure I can make it into the building alright. I'm perfectly capable for doing so myself"
Theo shakes his head from side to side as he gives him a soft chuckle as his blank eyes stare straight ahead, his soft voice continues.
"Let me introduce myself, I’m Theodore Masters adopted son of Henry Masters” The young man switched hands with his cane as he held a hand out for Alex to take, shaking the hand in his palms, feeling his rough skin. The young man with the charming pale face releases his hand from Alex’s as he readjusts himself, holding the cane with his good hand once again.

His accent, as much as he had loathed to admit it, was not something he couldn’t easily changed. He had always hoped that if his father had managed to stay in one place for long enough, he’d manage to lose it. After all, how could you slip through areas unnoticed if your accent made you stick out like a sore thumb? His father had more practice with the skill but Alex had always found it difficult to fully shake the sharpness of Turkish consonants away from his other words. That being said, Alex could easily see the cane that the man in front of him had and the way his eyes were unfocused, so why wouldn’t he go straight for his accent?

“Turkey. It’s been years since I’ve been back home. Is your accent of the standard American boy?” He tone started bashful at first, almost as if he was trying to conceal the words he had already spoken. But he slowly managed to take back on some of his confident, teasing tone. “Evet Simon, he’ll be fine.” Putting his hand on Theo’s shoulder, Alex gave it a little bit of a squeeze. Giving a toothy grin to the chauffeur, the young man managed to breathe a sigh of relief. “But you’re an adult, Evet? I mean, right?” He shrugged. “You could find less wrinkly babysitters I mean.”

Noticing how long he had his hand on Theo’s shoulder, he gently dropped his hand to his side before realizing he hadn’t answered one of Theo’s questions. “Well, Theodore Masters, son of Henri Masters, nice to meet you.” He said, shaking the other’s hand as he offered it. “But I’m Alex Karga.... son of,.... Well, does it really matter?.” He said with a sheepish grin on his face. “What are you doing here today?”

Beginning of the End Empty
PostSubject: Re: Beginning of the End   Beginning of the End EmptySat Oct 05, 2019 12:53 am

Theo couldn't help but chuckle at Alex's words hearing that teasing tone. He thought it was rather amusing coming from this young man. It was nice for once to hear someone that was so entertaining instead of being a stick in the mud like most of the staff here. Not to mention everyone seemed to like holding his hand, as if helping the young Master’s child gave them some leeway higher up into the company.
The sound of Alex’s beating heart was soft and had a normal rhythm to it, he wasn’t nervous or lying to him. Theo gave him a cheery smile, thankful he ran into a person that wanted to be in his company.

“I think you’ll very lively for someone that’s working here, I enjoy hearing that. It seems most are very… antisocial and too deep into their work. I come here every so often to do some of my own research. My older brother placed some of the research on a computer and I let it read to me. If you’re not too busy would you like to accompany me to the research floor? I have a room in the back that I go too” Theo gives Alex a half laugh as he scratches his cheek, knowing he did in fact actually gets lost from time to time in this huge facially (he would never admit that though). It didn’t help Theo that the place had been remodeled a few times over, therefore moving his research room in different part of the building.

“You think my chauffeur is too wrinkly? I guess I should feel up all my escorts huh?” Theo snickers at his own joke, trying not to laugh too loud in the entry hall of the building. It was awfully quiet despite how many people Theo could hear walking around the room and computers being tapped away on. The young Master’s begin moving his cane from side to side, hearing the little wheel on the bottom move.
“But seriously… it is nice to hear someone think I can handle things on my own” Theo gave a half smile as his white fluffy hair falls in his face as he leans his head down towards the marble floor.

Beginning of the End Empty
PostSubject: Re: Beginning of the End   Beginning of the End EmptyMon Oct 07, 2019 1:24 am

Alex’s lips spread into a smile hearing the other laugh. It... well, there had been a part of him that was more than a bit terrified that the Master’s boy was going to have a stick up his asss. Because... well, why wouldn’t he? He was born into money, probably had gone through very little hardship, and perhaps could have still held himself to some insanely high standard that left him nothing more than a withered husk on the inside.

And no, Alex was not making this judgement based off of any of his father’s old rich acquitences. Not at all. Okay maybe he was a little bit, but that was besides the point. Although, the (probably?) older of the two couldn’t help but feel some glimmer of sadness because even if Theo wasn’t one of those crotchety rich shits that he was so used to dealing with, Theo was still more than likely surrounded by them. Perhaps that’s why he smiled so brightly when Alex seemed to be interested? Or perhaps he smiled like this for whoever he spent time with. There was no reasob why he should let just five minutes with the other go straight to his ego.

“The other employees here seem... proper. They’re dedicated into finding cures for though who are affected by....” Alex’s hand started to rotate as he attempted to find a word to describe it. “.... ailments.” Considering the man in front of him was blind, Alex had no reason to believe he knew what this facility was researching... but no reason to think he didn’t know what they were researching either. It would be better if the other brought it up to him at least. “I don’t even think I know where the research floor is. I’m just a nurse, so my duties don’t really take me there. Perhaps we can figure it out together?” He asked brightly, hoping that the other wouldn’t be frustrated by his incompetence. .

That joke though that escaped Theo’s lips however, well, to say Alex wasn’t expecting it was an understatement. He stood there for a moment, just staring at Theo before some quiet chuckles escaped his lips. “That’s exactly what you should do.” He nudged Theo’s arm with his own. Alex gave him a surprised look though at the comment about others not thinking Theo could handle things on his own. “Well... regardless of many factors, you’re in control of your life. This-“ Alex gently tapped Theo’s cane “-or not. Besides, you’ve had several years to get used to it, right? In the end, you know yourself best.”

Beginning of the End Empty
PostSubject: Re: Beginning of the End   Beginning of the End EmptySat Oct 19, 2019 5:39 pm

Theo was becoming more and more intrigued at listening to Alex, their was something about the young man that wanted him to be more acquaintance with him. He stood there tapping his forefinger against his cane as he rolled a few thoughts about in his head.
“Ah! How about you join me today, I’ll make sure your boss understands the situation of your absence. I needed someone to assist me since I’m a blind adult in this huge facility for monsters”
Theo chuckles as his words were merged with sarcasm, he knew more than enough about the research they did here which is why he wanted to help his family to the best of his abilities.
“I know a fair amount already, I hope someday I can use my knowledge to help those on the field when they are in a pinch, that's why I dedicate myself into knowing all that I can about these monsters.  Sometimes I’ m thankful I cannot see what they look like, but then my mind makes up some horrifying pictures when I hear their descriptions”
As Theo was talking to his new friend, they continue to walk throughout the facility as Theo’s cane taps and clicks against the marble floor. It was then Theo stopped talking as he listens to the little wheel on his cane had stopped.
“I believe we are here, Alex can you see a room on your right with a desktop and a room full of books on your right?”
Theo could hear a light ‘yeah’ as he grabbed his badge from his pocketed and scanned the side of the wall as a voice came to life.
“Theodore Masters, Welcome. Please come inside along with your guest” The door clicked opened as Theo and Alex step into the carpeted floor room filled with shelved upon shelves of books with braille on them. In the center of the nice room sat a computer that looked very expensive, but Theo had no clue of how nice the desktop really was, all he cared about was getting the information off of the device he needed.
“Take a seat Alex, this is my research room, I’m not sure how it looks, but it suits my needs. I wanted to ask you something Alex. You said you were a nurse, do you help those who were attacked or what is your job here? I hate to play 20 questions, but would you mind if I got to know you better? I...don’t get out very often…. Most people I’m surrounded by are rich aristocrats and honestly they’re boring and only care about getting in good with my father.”
Theo twirls a strain of his cloud like hair as he shakes his head and puts a smile back on his face, wanted to hear more about his new friend.
“Enough about myself I would like to hear more about you Alex” Theo takes a seat as he sets his cane against the desk as he places his hands into his lap, waiting patently to hear what the young male had to say. In a way Theo was excited to talk to someone that was around his age for once.  His sweet innocent face with those cloudy eyes stares straight ahead in Alex’s direction as that fluffy white hair falls over his right eye.
